About Our Chapter

Child bedlessness is a national problem, and as a national nonprofit with chapters spread across the country, SHP has provided the solution. We are a volunteer organization that builds beds for kids who are sleeping on the floor and there are multiple ways to get involved right here on our WI-Racine / Kenosha page.

  • If you’d like to volunteer and participate in our next Build Day or Delivery event, check out our events calendar to the right

In Memory of
Emmie Jae Livingston
Born to heaven on 9/14

Last week we received an email that left us stunned. It was from the mother of Emmie Jae Livingston, who was born to heaven on 9/14. I have the author's permission to share it.

"Hello, I came across your post about the need for beds built in our community before Christmas. I am working on gathering interest in volunteers to assist with building and also will be collecting monetary and bedding donations. My husband and I gave birth to a sleeping baby on 9/14 and we will be doing this in honor of her. Please let me know what is needed on our end. We look forward to helping the children in our community."

We are collecting money and bedding in Emmie's memory. The money collected will fund a private build for the family and friends of Emmie's parents.

If you wish to contribute, you can send checks to Sleep in Heavenly Peace, PO Box 81614, Racine, Wisconsin 53408, or you can contribute online using the button on this page. In either case, please put Emmie's name in the memo line.

Also, please join me in keeping Emmie's family in your prayers.
