About Our Chapter

Bedlessness isn’t a real word yet, but it is a real problem. And thanks to real people across the world, Sleep in Heavenly Peace has made real progress in the fight against child bedlessness.

All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads.  Sleep in Heavenly Peace fully believes that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional and mental support that a child needs.  We are a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need.

Child bedlessness is a national problem, and as a national nonprofit with chapters spread across the country, SHP has provided the solution.  You can help us help kids who are sleeping on the floor and in other poor conditions.  There are multiple ways for you to get involved right here in Kansas City from MO-Kansas City SE chapter page.

Where do your donations go?

Each chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace is 100% ran and operated by volunteers.  Your donation stays in our community and serves kiddos right here.  All funds are used to build and deliver our fully furnished beds to kiddos.  Our expenses include tools, lumber and hardware for Build Days and new mattresses, bedding and pillows for deliveries.  And of course, we have minimal expense for storage and insurance.

We have a volunteer opportunity for everyone!

No experience, no worries.  Our builds are designed with everyone in mind.  We have a task for people of all ages and all skill levels.  It's easy and its fun.  Our builds and deliveries provide a great opportunity for families, corporate team building and service projects.  Check out this video (courtesy of Anthem Photography) to see our process...From Build to Delivery
